I am Dorothy Muriet Mariampillai, Secretary, BUDS-UK, I have joined hands with BUDS to raise funds to help our community in the Eastern Province who have badly affected by the Pandemic. 

The World has never faced a crisis like COVID-19. The Pandemic is impacting communities everywhere and our small home town Batticaloa in the Eastern Province is not an exception. It's never been more urgent to support our community in this unprecedented times.

As you are aware COVID-19 is spiralling out in all direction, every day more than 100 COVID infected cases are identified in Batticaloa District and we do not have enough medical facilities to cope with the situation. The medical authorities are struggling to deal with the patients with inadequate medical equipment, beds, etc. The death toll in Batticaloa District is increasing daily and they are not very successful with the vaccination programme either.

We BUDS-UK, https://budsuk.org/ have taken steps to provide necessary medical equipment to hospitals in the District, already spent more than £20,000 supplying dry food rations and medical equipment, oxygen meters, face masks, medical gowns. etc.
