Double Windermere Challenge

Double Windermere Challenge · 18 September 2016
Thanks for taking the time to visit Cumbria CCGs JustGiving page. As an organisation we are looking to ensure that children and families receive the best care available in Cumbria. As part of this endeavour we are supporting the work of Brathay Children's Trust, by completing a unique 21 mile, double row of Lake Windermere. All monies raised will go to ensuring that children in Cumbria are not disadvantaged and reach their potential in life.
70 years of improving
young lives
Brathay Trust recognises that
everyone has the capacity to do extraordinary things that can inspire and benefit
others. This drives their mission to improve the life chances of children,
young people and families by inspiring them to engage positively in their
communities.
The Trust’s Founder, Francis
Scott, a successful businessman, invested in the nation’s future through the
establishment of a charity dedicated to developing a new generation of post-war
leaders, bringing together young people from widely different communities;
apprentices from the shipyards; boys from top independent schools and many
others to learn leadership skills from each other in the inspiring Lake
District.
As well as delivering high
quality programmes, Scott also set the charity goal of research, education,
development and sharing our knowledge for the greater benefit of the nation.
Brathay remains as committed to
their mission 70 years later; to inspire young people to make a positive
contribution to society. They support their charitable efforts through
enterprising fundraising and events, together complementary professional
activity that delivers organisational and people development consultancy to
private and public sector organisations.
Their dynamic approach is built
upon a mutual trust that reaches out to touch communities across the UK from
their inspiring Lake District base. Expert teams engage with people of all ages
and from all walks of life to discover the Brathay effect, enthused by a simple
belief in the transformational power of people working together.
