Australian Outback half marathon · 29 July 2017

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates and funds three air ambulances and a fleet of critical care cars covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This lifesaving service costs £13-14 million each year and is funded by donations only.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

When I completed a half marathon in Rio de Janeiro last year, I could tick off another destination in my quest to run at least a half marathon on every continent on the planet (as well as the 2 ice-caps). With only two left on my list, next stop is Australia and I have entered a race in the Outback near Ayres Rock.

I have chosen the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as their 3 helicopters save countless lives without receiving a penny of government funding; they rely entirely on public donations. Whether it's a road traffic accident, an agricultural worker, a horse-rider or even a fell runner in distress, the time saved in getting the traumatised patient to hospital often means the difference between life and death. Anyone, of any age, might need their services one day and I hope you can help me support their work.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
