Story

My name is Dougie and I have Type 1 Diabetes which means my body is unable to control my blood sugar levels. I rely on man made insulin (delivered through a pump which is attached to me) to help stop my blood sugar going too high. When I go too low I need glucose. It’s a very difficult condition to manage as there are at least 25 other factors apart from food which effect my blood sugar. Even having a bad dream or the temperature changing can effect me. I would love to live my life not worrying about my blood sugar levels. At the moment I need to be monitored 24/7. There is no day off. Hopefully, not for ever. Thank you for supporting me. Dougie xx
