Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Tuesday 19th July I will be climbing all the peaks over 700 metres high in the Mourne mountains, Northern Ireland. This will involve walking, climbing and scrambling for aproximately 10 - 12 hours, depending on weather and conditions. It will be a leg draining, lung bursting and a feet tiring event. Why am I doing this? Well, I and two others will be doing this challenge to raise funds to take a group of young adults with Downs Syndrome away to Beius in Romania from 9th to 16th October 2011 to assist in the house building process for the poor and disadvantaged. This trip to Romania ia a joint venture between the Downs Syndrome Association and Habitat for Humanity NI and the first time for both organisations to do anything like this. This trip will also raise awareness of the potential of people with Downs Syndrome and that they too are part of our community in Northern Ireland and have a valuable contribution to society just like anyone else.
I would appreciate any donation for this event on Tuesday 19th July 2011. It will be very demanding physically and mentally. However, the outcomes of the trip to Romania will cause the pains and aches of our mountain challenge, "All the Sevens" to fade away.
Thank you so much for taking time to read this
