Story

Just over a year ago my Fiancé 😘 Fiona was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition called CIDP. This condition causes her white blood cells to attack her nerve endings causing frequent pain and as a result has a severe impact on her life and the ability to carry out even regular every day tasks. Treatment is ongoing and we’re hopeful of a recovery but for the time being GAIN is the only charity related to this type of condition so hopefully by virtue of this fundraising the money can be put to good use and help Fiona and all the others out there that are afflicted with this and similar illnesses.

When Fiona first asked me if I’d like to run a marathon my answer was “no”. Now I’ve started training I can honestly say my answer is still no! However I think it’s important that I do, because it will be difficult and challenging and in a sense will give me a small idea of what it has been like for Fiona each day for the past year. My aim is to raise some money and awareness for the condition CIDP and perhaps just to be able to compete the run in one piece 😊
