Story

** UPDATE  **
Thank you so much for your donations you lovely people. Unfortunately I wasn't able to run the Bath Half...  but I did do 3 x 7km loops around Frome on 4 November instead so mission accomplished and target raised and exceeded thanks so much, will post pics of the gardens / progress when available xx

Mum spent a long few months at the Princess Royal Sheffield when they discovered how bad her spine was, and it really needed a little space like this to make it nicer for the residents, so I thought this new garden planned for 2024 would be something nice for mum's friends to donate to if they wanted as I try my hand at a first half marathon... some more info below on the garden - thanks!

Horatio's Garden is a national charity that creates and nurtures beautiful, accessible garden projects in NHS spinal injury centres across the UK to support the psychological and physical wellbeing of everyone affected by spinal injury. At present we have six garden projects and are due to begin work on our seventh in Belfast in January 2023. Our goal is to have a thriving garden project in all 11 NHS spinal injury centres in the UK.Horatio's Garden Sheffield will be the charity's eighth garden project. It will be created at The Princess Royal Spinal Cord Injuries Centre, Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. The spinal centre is the second largest in the UK, with 64 beds, supporting 360 in-patients, and thousands of out-patients, every year. The centre has a wide catchment area, with patients admitted from across South Yorkshire, East Midlands (except Northamptonshire), Lincolnshire, the Northern Division of East of England (Norfolk, Suffolk and North Cambridgeshire).
