Please please PLEASE take a moment to give us a boost, we'd love to do well for Uncle Al :) He loved motorsport and would be grinning from ear-to-ear!
Uncle Al's Story:
Five years ago Al's kidney's started to fail after taking painkillers containing diclofenac for his knees. It was unknown at the time that diclofenac would have such an effect and eventually he was dependent on dialysis three times a week. He always had a positive attitude however lost a lot of weight and strength after a 2 year wait on the transplant list. He was informed that due to a biscupid valve in his heart he would not be eligible for a transplant until he had this fixed. So he underwent heart surgery, twice in a day and suffered a stroke leaving him in critical condition and paralysed down his left hand side. He eventually left hospital 8 months later very immobilised and highly dependent on others. Over the next two years he had countless trips to hospital from falls, haemorrhaging and still dialysis 3 times a week. He remained fevervently-optimistic for his transplant however after contracting sepsis he could not continue and passed away in February last year.
We loved Al, and he would have loved this :)
