Hello,

My name is John Ferguson, this year my father, Douglas Ferguson, lost his battle with cancer.

Dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer a couple of years ago, and endured with dignity radio and chemotherapy as well as major life-changing surgery, in an attempt to beat this disease. Unfortunately early this year we learned that it had returned and spread to his bones.

Despite enduring far more pain than he let on to his friends and family, Dad continued to remain his old self, optimistic and selfless, up until he was admitted to hospital in August. After a mercifully brief spell, he died surrounded by family on September 20^th this year.

I am convinced that the superlative care and treatment Dad received from the offset allowed him to live a worthwhile life far longer than would have been possible even five years ago. I am so grateful to all those who help him and us, and continue to do so. It goes without saying that Dad's treatment was possible thanks to the outstanding work that Cancer Research UK has achieved.

I know that they can only do this with out help, therefore I would ask you to consider donating some money to this cause. I'm not asking for much, times are tight but if you can spare even a couple of pounds then that still helps.
