Downside Abbey is a Charitable Trust that supports the work of the Monastic Community. Inspired by the rule of St Benedict, the monks live in a community in Somerset, custodians of the Monastery Library and Archives and the Grade I listed Abbey Church.

Story

Sports facilities have undergone something of a revolution in the last few years at Downside.  The DWCC have been at the forefront of some of these initiatives, from large scale fund raising events to refurbish the pavilion, to making contributions to the lawn mowers for the ground staff.

Those who remember long, cold winters at Downside will remember the importance of the sports hall.  Whilst this facility is looking good, the single indoor net that has been there forever really isn't fit for purpose.

We're raising funds to buy two brand new nets and sight screens, new mats and a new bowling machine.

We're very grateful for donations already made by members, which are included above.

The school will also contribute £2,300 to supplement the appeal.
