Story
On Monday 7th July 2014, my aunty passed away as a result of her 2 year battle with breast cancer. As she was a very private person, I will respect her wishes by not mentioning her name. Following her death I did some research, and I discovered that Breast Cancer is the most common form of cancer in the UK around 50,000 women and around 400 men are diagnosed each year.
So I have given myself a Cancer Challenge of raising £1,500 before my 21st birthday (22nd October). Please help me to fulfill my birthday wish and from Monday 14th July 2014 Wednesday 22nd October 2014, I pledge to do the following in return:
- I will not eat bread, chicken or rice for a 101 days.
- I will cover a total distance of 600km by walking, jogging and running during this period, this is roughly the equivalent of 14 London marathons, which is also the same distance between London and Bielefield (Germany).
- I will keep a food diary and exercise journal which I will share on my instagram page (www.instagram.com/DoyinsBirthdayWish) as proof that I am sticking to my pledge.
Thank you for your support - I cannot do this alone so please donate and help me reach my target. I am doing this in memory of all the beautiful women who have lost their lives, and for all the brave women who will be saved from this deadly disease in future.
Let's make the ultimate breakthrough – freedom from breast cancer!!!
