‘Buy a virtual-pint’ to say #CheersToOurNHS 

It’s an iconic Great British gesture of thanks and one we sadly can’t physically do at the moment, but we can still donate the national average cost of a pint (£4) to collectively contribute to the needs of our NHS workers and their volunteers. 

With approximately 52 million adults in the UK, if we each donate the cost of the average pint to this fundraiser as a #CheersToOurNHS, it will collectively raise £200,000,000 for our brilliant NHS workers and their volunteers who are currently risking their own lives to save ours. Many are reporting feeling ‘tired’ and ‘burnt out’, some are even staying away from their homes and families to do protect their loved ones whilst they care for COVID-19 patients.  

Our fantastic NHS staff have reported feeling ‘burnt out’ and ‘tired’ but nonetheless are marching on and will be continuing to so from the weeks and months to come. 

Many of us are wanting to do more for than sit on our sofa to help with what’s been dubbed the biggest crisis since peacetime. Sadly we can’t physically buy them a pint and give them a shoulder to lean on at the moment, but maybe this gesture, if we all do it, will help us take care of them whilst they’re taking care of us.

All funds raised will contribute to their needs at this time such as mental and physical wellbeing support, essentials they’re struggling to get from shops, travel and expenses, PPE, and other things requested by them and their NHS Charities. By God do they deserve it.

So whilst we’re adhering to NHS and government guidelines to stay home, stay safe, social distance etc, why don’t we all donate whatever we can or a virtual-pint, a virtual-round and/or leave a virtual-tip or whatever we can as a Great British gesture to keep up morale not just with our friends, family, colleagues and our vulnerable members of society, but to take care of our incredible NHS staff and their volunteers whilst they take care of us.

Let’s show the NHS what they mean to us. Let the history books say, and let our children’s children for generations to come learn that there is no nation quite like the Great British Public who come together in crisis to keep up morale and go the extra mile to look after those risking their lives to save ours.
