My name is Tom Crosby and I am a Consultant Oncologist and extremely proud to be Clinical Director of Velindre Cancer Centre.

You are probably already aware of the huge amount of excellent care that is delivered at Velindre but with your help we can still go even further.

Treatments are increasingly complex and to try to navigate through this challenging journey without dedicated and personal support is very hard indeed.I believe every patient should have the support of a named 'Key Worker' but currently this is only possible with support from charitable funds.

We have seen from a recent patient survey that patients really appreciate the care they receive at Velindre but that their experience is much better where they do have access to the support of a named specialist nurse.

Our treatments are getting better every day but there is still a long way to go. Again, I believe every patient should equitable access to the latest proven cutting edge treatment or participate in ground breaking research to find the new proven treatments of tomorrow.

Having cycled accross California in 2014 and summitted Mount Kilimanjaro last year, this year my challenge will be to cycle 515km from Boston to New York.

So please, please dig deep and give what you can, so we can give others what they need.
