This is indeed a month that brings out the best qualities of goodness and kindness in us all. I am sure each one of you is trying, as I am, to engage in ibadaats and acts that will please our Lord, to hopefully earn His Mercy and forgiveness.

One such act is giving. Giving in charity - or at least, its purpose – is a way for those whom Allah has blessed with wealth, to share with those in need – family, friends, neighbours and with those you know and those you don’t. Our beloved Prophet Mohammed (sallalAllahu alayhi wasallam) used to increase giving sadaqah in this month. As you know, it is recommended for us to follow this Sunnah and give daily if we can.

Our Muslim community in the neighbouring Northwood have been given an unexampled opportunity to convert a Church hall into a Community Centre, where they can perform 5 daily salaahs, arrange Qur’an classes for children and provide Islamic education for the adults etc, as well as providing services to fulfil the needs of the community at large.

The charity Iron Aid, most of the brothers whom you may know, attend our classes in SAIS, have been actively raising funds - to achieve a target of £700k. It is my wish that we all at SAIS can come together and stand side by side, showing our brotherhood to them in this mission and help them with however much we can give.
