Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. This year I am doing the Bournemouth Pier to Pier Swim - a 1.4 mile open water swim in the English Channel to raise money to fund cardiac research.
Heart failure is a disease in which the heart has difficulty pumping blood around the body. Sixty-four million people worldwide are living with heart failure. The only curative treatment for end-stage heart failure is heart transplantation. However, in the UK, only a few hundred heart transplants are carried out each year, whilst up to 100,000 heart failure diagnoses are made. Alternative solutions are urgently required.
The BHF fund research into cutting-edge regenerative medicine that aims to find ways to regrow, repair and replace damaged heart muscle and blood vessels. It's only thanks to generous support from fundraising that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. Every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
