Story
The challenge: to collectively as a club run, walk or cycle the 24,901miles (or 40,075km) it takes to go around the world in 80 days in a bid to raise £1500 for the Piam Brown Ward @ Southampton General Hospital.
Why are we doing this?
Hannah Black has been an integral part of Dreams Netball for a number of years as both a player and coach. Both her two daughters, Sienna and Leah, have been actively involved in our teams representing at regional level. Recently we were told that Keanu (Hannah's son), after being ill for a number of weeks, had been diagnosed with Leukaemia and is currently being treated at the Piam Brown Ward in Southampton. Like his sisters, Keanu is a talented sports person, recently being awarded a 2 year football contract with Southampton Football Club prior to his diagnosis. We are doing this to show our support and solidarity to both Keanu and his family. We wish him a speedy recovery and in the meantime, we will be running, walking and cycling our legs off to try and raise as much money to support the fantastic care that the Piam Brown Ward provides.
When will it happen? The challenge will start on 18th May 2020 and finish on 6th August 2020.
How will we keep you updated? Each week we will post our weekly stats from our Strava group so that you can keep updated on our progress. 24,901 miles is a tall order but we think that together, as a club, we can smash it!
