Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In July this year I intend to cycle from Mizen Head, County Cork , to Malin Head in County Donegal , to help raise funds for a local County Down charity MAINSTAY DRP.

This charity has recently embarked on a very ambitious building project at Killough Road, Downpatrick.  It is intended to build a purpose designed development to provide suitable accommodation, day-care and administration facilities for people who have learning disabilities.  Planning permission has already been obtained and now it’s down to financials. if you would like to learn more about the work of the charity you could visit their website on  www.mainstaydrp.org

With some funding coming from the charitable arms of larger corporate entities, and significant local fundraising there is still a shortfall. It is hoped that this cycle challenge will help bridge some of this shortfall.

It is difficult in such dire economic times to ask for money, but this particular cause is worthy and provides a tremendous boost to our local economy and employment.  The Project employs in excess of 120 people from the Down District and looks after 70+ clients.

I hope you can help – even in a small way and thank you sincerely for considering my plea.

So please dig deep and donate now.
