Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
During September I and other Magnificent Blokes (of which more later) have been stepping out ahead and fund raising for Prostate Cancer UK in advance of the Men United Event in St Georges, Bristol, all day on October 6th. (of which there is more at https://themagnificentak47.blogspot.com/p/magnificent-massive-man-sing.html )
The Charities Goal was 11,000 per day.
For reasons I can’t recall, I decided to aim for a more challenging goal to average at least 20,000 per day over the month.
The results are in. 637000 steps at an average of 21000 per day, while climbing the equivalent of Mt Blanc without oxygen, only possible because of the support of many and lots of encouragement. But the fund raising and awareness will go on for a week or so more until we have sung in St George’s, so that research and care can continue.
There are so many good causes and you may choose to give elsewhere but even so, do checkout the advice at the UK prostate cancer website, for yourself or a man you know, husband, partner, brother, father, son, mate, and encourage them to get tested. Don’t be shy, don’t worry about embarrassment even if only for a couple of seconds. Like Magnificent AK Geoff, a check could catch a problem just in time.
Thanks again
Gary
