The Dring family have always loved adventures.  Before lockdown the 6 of us walked 84 miles along Hadrians Wall when I was 9. We now feel ready for a new adventure and this summer we have decided to go to Kenya with Mission Direct. 

We will work alongside the people there to build a girls dormitory. This, my parents call a holiday!  Seriously though, we will get a few days exploring the Masai Mara and I might even be lucky enough to see a lion!  

Why am I telling you all this?

I would like to ask for your support( all of our fees are paid for so I don’t expect you to pay for my holiday )to buy building materials for the project.  Each brick costs about 20p and we need a lot of them.  

So how do we hope to buy the bricks?

We have started a pop up shop to sell flowers, plants and eggs but we’re really hoping that you will contribute to our endeavour by buying just a few bricks each.  Every single one moves the project toward completion and means that a young girl will have a safe place to sleep and learn, free from the threat of forced marriage and FGM.

We will be meeting the girls and their carers and hope to share their story with you.  We can even show you the bricks that you have bought in situ!
