Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for the Ayrshire Hospice.
It's been ten years since I started working for the hospice and also with a "big" birthday coming up early next year ; what better way to mark these events than by taking on another challange and raising a pile of cash for the hospice. I've set my target at £10,000 - one thousand pounds for every year at the hospice.
Summitting Kilimanjaro on a freezing snowy March day in 2010 and raising £9600 for the hospice was certainly hard work. It was the toughest physical challenge I have ever done. But It has spurred me on to do something higher and harder.
Mera Peak (6476m, 21240 feet) is located in the Everest region of the Nepal Himalaya. It is the highest point which is accessible using no more than basic glacier skills. The view from the summit is acknowledged to be one of the finest in the entire Nepal Himalaya, encompassing five of the World's 8000-metre peaks, Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Kanchenjunga.
Please take a look at the attached photograhs and video clip of Mear Peak.
