We have chosen to run the Beirut marathon to take part in the biggest marathon in the middle-east. Beirut is an exciting and welcoming city and we are priviliged to be running with our friends at Chedid Re.

We are running for Emilia's Little Heart, a wonderful children's charity started by our close friend's Claire and Darren Webb in memory of their beautiful (and cheeky) daughter Emilia. Every penny raised will go to the charity to support children and their families that are in hospital, providing things like teddy Bears and bravery certificates to full sensory rooms and outdoor play areas.

Here is an introduction from ELHF

When Emilia our brave little 3 year old lost her battle for life we were devastated and didn’t know how we were going to live a minute without her. I needed to find a way forward. I thought about all the amazing children I had met whilst Emilia spent three months at the Evelina Children’s Hospital, London. I was totally humbled by how they coped emotionally with their heart conditions and the hospital situation. Emilia and those children have made me look at how lucky I am in what I have been given in life, and they inspired me to look at ways in which I can give back.

I decided to set up a charity as Emilia’s legacy, as I have first hand experience of how children with ill-health or disability are emotionally affected by being in hospital. The charity is named Emilia’s Little Heart Foundation.

Emilia's Little Heart is a small children's charity who hopes to have a real impact on the experience for children during their time in hospital.  We work with the hospital paediatric staff across Kent hospitals and at the Evelina London (Guys and St Thomas' Trust).  We help thousands of children every year to cope with hospital by healing through play.  We aspire to change their experience by bringing smiles, laughter and fun which aids in their recovery and means they are soon home again.
