Our walk to beat cancer . Can you join us ?
Friday 30th September
We have 4 aims / wishes
- Raise as much money for cancer research as possible
- Fill the route with as many of you as we can.
- If the walk is not possible then please join us in the evening in support, friendship and celebrating life.
- What’s now become my obsession, to raise awareness that early detection of health issues truly saves lives. Please please get checked.
I’m hoping to get some airtime on local radio to not only promote the walk but to talk about having health checks
The walk will start as close to Witney Town’s old Marriotts Close Ground ( Now M& S ) to the new Oxford City Ground at Court Farm Marston. Approximately 14 miles.
I have chosen this walk because I loved playing for both clubs and most importantly it’s a safe walking route. Justin Merritt the Co Owner of Oxford City has very kindly donated the use of the club house for the evening. There will be food available on the night, a raffle and auction.
I already have some fantastic auction and raffle prizes but would love some more , can you help ?
It’s our chance to give something back for all the incredible work my Oncology team and our NHS have done in keeping me alive and to help others beat this horrible disease.
I realise 14 miles is quite a long walk ( especially for me but I wanted to challenge myself) , so I am arranging a quick stop for refreshments at the Evenlode Eynsham before walking on to Wolvecote roundabout and then on to the City ground Marston.
If you can’t manage the whole walk then we would love you to join us on the way.
The walk will start at 11.30am and we are allowing 6 hours to walk it with pit stops so it will be a very relaxed walk.
I already have some ladies and gents committed to walk but please make our day and join us so I can add your name to this page.
