Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the Maggies Monster Bike and Hike in memory of Brian McGrath, my best friend who sadly lost his five year battle with cancer in December 2011. I have joined the Biking for Brian Team, lead by his wife Kirsty, and we're taking on this challenge with the knowledge that Brian's positivity, humour and determination will be with us through the 54 miles of cycling and hiking.

Brian wasn’t able to join me last year on my Bologna or Bust trip (seven countries, six days, 2500 miles , raising £1,450 for Cancer Research) due to his illness. We did however manage a trip up north in September last year on our motorbikes, sadly, this was the last time Brian and I managed to get away due to his illness. Brian loved cycling and the “great outdoors” and I know he would be very proud of Kirsty and the Team for the challenge we are about to undertake.

I know a lot of people sponsored me for the Bologna or Bust trip and I thank you for all that you gave.  I know I am asking for your sponsorship again but Maggies is a brilliant charity that gave a lot of support to Brian and Kirsty throughout the past few years and I would be delighted if you could find it in your hearts, and pockets, to give generously !
