Story

Great to see you back on my justgiving page - thanks!

I've made the big step to competing in a full Ironman (Nice on June 29th) with a warm up event of the UK 1/2 Ironman 2 weeks beforehand. The Ironman is made up of a  3.8km swim, 180km bike and to finish a full marathon!  The 1/2 IM is half these distances. I've been training around 15 hours per week since Christmas building on my existing fitness base. I have had a coach that's focused me in the right direction and of course,  lots of support from Caff making sure I'm not sleeping in on a cold wet Wednesday morning when I have an hours run before work! Caff is also competing in the UK 1/2 - a great step up in her fitness routine.

All of the events I have recently completed in, from last years Alpe d'Huez long course triathlon to my first etape du tour 6 years ago, I have raised money for charities and directly, to help my cousin Flora. Flora goes to Tadcaster Grammar school and has several difficulties that means she needs a wheel chair and a lot of care.  Flora lives an amazingly normal life thanks to her fantastic parents.

Every time I think of Flora, I so appreciate that I can do these events where she would just love to have a go. Go-kids-go, have helped Flora to gain confidence in her chair being able to move around a bit, independently.  So to that end dig deep, it does make such a difference to the small charities like go-kids-go.  Thanks.
