As part of my final year of university study, at Newcastle University, I will be undertaking an International Development Module. This will involve me designing and building a gravity fed water distribution system to provide clean water for a rural village in Borneo. The project will be undertaken with Rayleigh International a sustainable development charity. In order to undertake the expedition my colleagues and I need to raise £2,100 each for Rayleigh International.

This project will help deliver clean water direct to homes via a system which can be easily used and managed by the local community. This will stop the need for villagers to walk long distances to collect what is still poor quality water. Traditionally this is undertaken by the women and girls in the village meaning they miss out on attending school and gaining an education.

Money raised for Raleigh covers a wide range of costs including; materials, equipment, pre & post expedition collaboration, creating permanent field bases and training & support for volunteers.
