Having ran the London Marathon twice I wanted to complete my hat-trick in New York, why wouldn't you! I thoroughly enjoy both the mental and physical challenges I encounter, as you can imagine there are the inevitable ups and downs. Underpinning everything is the overwhelming feeling of humility, pride, relief and exasperation as I cross the line. My two marathons so far are without doubt the most humbling experiences of my life, alongside that of seeing my closest friend battle with cancer. As I get older cancer seems to be touching people far too frequently, and I know that raising money for Cancer Research UK can only help in the battle against this terrible disease. 

I was fortunate to secure my place through the ballot, I will be staying with family, and Sean Hook of Consilium Wealth Limited has very kindly sponsored my travel expenses, so every penny you donate will go to Cancer Research UK.
