Story
***UPDATE***
I finished!
I made it but boy was it hot. It was a fantastic experience and the sore legs and blisters were worth it. The support from the crowd was amazing and I felt the support of everyone who sponsored me every step of the way. I'd like to thank you all for your help in achieving this outstanding figure, it has exceeded what I ever thought was possible and I still have another €1000 to collect from Citrix. Despite being beaten by a couple Bakewell tarts I am very happy to have finished in 4:51:02.
I was inspired to run by the loss of my cousin Adrian. His birthday was 30th April and he would have been 23 years old. I am honoured that I was able do this in his memory. My love and thoughts will be with Frankie, Angel, Lucas, Julian and Olivia on Monday.

==========================================================
I ran the Great North Run 7 years ago and said I'd never do a full marathon, but here I am! I'm doing this in memory of my cousin Adrian Martinez, who died suddenly at the age of 22 on 10 August 06.Adrian was an talented cross country and track runner and it is this that shocked me the most when I heard the news of Adrian's passing. How can such a young fit guy die so suddenly? I felt I needed to make sense of what had happened and understand more about why this sort of sudden death occurs. I did a lot of Googling and came across CRY's web site amongst the searches. I soon realised that what happened to Adrian is not uncommon. It seems incredible to me how such life threatening conditions can go completely undetected. Hopefully with this small contribution I can help prevent other families from going through the same tragedy and help those that have already lost love ones come to terms with what has happened.
So please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cardiac Risk in the Young will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
