Durham Cathedral in Lego · 18 September 2014

Durham Cathedral is unique. Prayer, worship and the welcome of visitors (around half a million each year) are the heart of what we do. We also care for a UNESCO World Heritage Site, improve the biodiversity of Durham's natural spaces, and bring people together to make a difference in the world.

Story

To build this impressive model we need your help and invite you to support us by buying a brick. For every £1 donated, one LEGO brick will be added to the Cathedral.

The 300,000 brick model will be as accurate a scale representation of the Cathedral as possible, spanning 3.84m metres in length, 1.53 metres wide and 1.7 metres in height.

The Cathedral in LEGO, once completed will slide apart so that the interior of the Cathedral can also be viewed, and used to educate schools ad young people about the architecture and heritage of the building.

Alternatively, you can visit the Cathedral in person to make a donation and place bricks on the model between 9.30am - 4.00pm Monday to Saturday and 12noon - 4.00pm on Sunday.
