Batten disease is a group of rare, progressive neurodegenerative, genetic metabolic diseases that occur in children & adults worldwide. The BDFA's Vision is to be the central point of excellence in the UK for supporting affected families funding research into a potential cure.

Story

To the people who know me and Dylan and to the people who never had the pleasure..

Dylan was a beautiful character throughout the 7 years of his life and battled against battens but was sadly taken from us in march 2015 after nearly 4 years of his diagnosis of late infantile battens disease.

My goal is to raise awareness and funds for the bdfa to help families of other sufferers and help towards research which may one day find treatment and possibly a cure for this awful disease that affects 250 odd children and very young adults.

Please have a look at the website for more details on battens and how you could help too

I owe it to Dylan to try and help.

My first event will be a teddy tombola which will take place on Sunday 26 April with cakes prizes, teddy tombola, toy sales and much more .

Thank you all so much for your donations this far xx

5/5/15 we have reached the £1000 target!!! I will have to update a target to my future ideas for the long term goal 😁
