Early Break is a Bury based charity supporting Children and Families throughout parts of Greater Manchester who have a range of complex needs and associated risk factors such as mental health and wellbeing, neglect, homelessness, poverty, domestic abuse and child sexual exploitation.

Story

Rick founded 5kGroupRun in 2013 after running a 10k race for charity. Since then each year he has ran 1 race for charity. The first year the chosen charity was Every Action Has Consequences, then it was the East Lancs Hospice, and this year it's Early Break. All local charities supporting local people.

Early Break are an inspirational organisation who deliver drug and alcohol services for children and young people, saving many vulnerable young people's lives every single day. They rely on charitable donations to do this and more. I've seen their work and I can guarantee that every penny donated will contribute towards improving the life chances of some of East Lancashire's most vulnerable and at risk children.

I'm running a marathon relay, which means I run half of the full marathon, and my training partner Beth Perkins runs the other half. That's 13.1 miles each. Beth ran with me when I was nearly 20st and struggling to run for 60 seconds when I did my own C25K, now we run another half marathon together!

Dig deep if you can, spare loose change if that's all you have, or if you have nothing just like and share on social media 😄
