London to Brighton Challenge 2021 · 29 May 2021 ·

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. We’re striving for a cure, by revolutionising the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.

Story

In May 2021, we are running 100km (c. 2.5 marathons) in one day from London to Brighton to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK. Why?

1) Because, like all charities, they need money for research etc. to help find a cure for this terrible disease. Both of our parents sadly suffer from dementia. For those who have loved ones who also have suffered the same, you will realise there are so many more issues than just "forgetting your name".

2) If people are going to be kind enough to donate, we want to feel we have pushed ourselves to the absolute limit. Until recently, none of us have ever been "runners" or even completed a marathon.  Throwing ourselves into such an enormous challenge is a little daunting. But, with some dedicated training over the weeks and months ahead, we are confident we will succeed. 👊

Please follow our vlogs on YouTube - https://youtube.com/user/adamgross80 ▶️ on our progress in training 💪 and as we raise awareness 🗣 by showing an insight into the effects dementia has on someone and their family.

Thanks so much for for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. 🙏🙏🙏
