Watching the plight of refugees on the news night after night is heartbreaking; like everyone, we felt horrified yet helpless. 

However, the Home Offices' Community Sponsorship Programme gives us an opportunity to take practical action and welcome a refugee family to our local community here in East Lothian. We will support the family as they rebuild their lives.  As part of our commitment, we need to:

- Raise £10,500 to support the family in their move.

- Find a home in East Lothian (minimum 2 bedroom) rented at, or close to the cost of housing benefits - with a minimum 2 year contract
