Eastlinks Charity of the year · 31 December 2014

Open Sight Hampshire provides a lifetime of support to visually impaired people of all ages and their families and associates, and delivers expertise in every aspect of sight loss.

Story

This year our team are raising money for a local charity that supports vision impaired people and their families.

We will be hosting fund raisers throughout the year including Dress Down Friday, sponsored sporting events and cake sales.

All our fund raising will be here for everyone to see, track our progress and donate.

Hampshire Cycle Challenge Monday July 21st

The ride was a complete success, we visited all the planned venues with proper pit stops meeting with colleagues, Open Sight members and the local mayor in Alton and Waterlooville.  We had an incredibly warm welcome at each of these before continuing on with our journey.  On the way to Eastleigh Football Club a planned stop was made at the Co-op's brand new Bassett Green Road store to meet the community officer.  It was a longer distance than either of us had cycled before and was the hardest thing I've ever done (Graham).

For those that like to run the numbers:
Total distance: 122 miles
Venues visited: 14
Cycling time: 7:53:21
Rolling average speed: 15.5 mph
Total climb: 4,215 feet

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity.
