Story
You probably know by now, but my pregnancy and birth was anything but typical. I found out I was pregnant at over 24 weeks gestation, and gave birth early enough that I spent a grand total of almost 11 weeks pregnant.
It seems I have form with doing things early. I too was a premature baby, but more fitting to this context is probably that I had deferred my London Marathon 2020 place to 2021. But when COVID-19 hit, and the 2020 Marathon was postponed, my deferral was cancelled... so I'll now be running the race six months earlier than planned. Eeeeeeek!!
I'm extremely lucky to have a beautiful, boisterous, healthy boy in Ramsay, but I had a traumatising time and my experience in hospital left me needing treatment for PTSD. I don't want this to happen to anyone else: preemie parents deserve better. I'm fundraising for Bliss to help ensure every parent who needs to can access their services and be supported.

Every 5 minutes, a baby is admitted to neonatal care in the UK.Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. They rely on donations to fund their work, and without our help they won't be able to reach the 100,000 babies needing neonatal care each year.Your donation to my page will help Bliss to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to all families with a baby born premature or sick.
