Story
It was with great sadness that on Friday 9th December 2022, one of our beloved EA6 students passed away.
In the summer of 2019, Faith Dada was diagnosed with Epilepsy. Despite this diagnosis, she remained in high spirits and did not let her diagnosis phase her.
Faith was a resilient character, always had a smile on her face and a sharp sense of humour.
She loved to make her friends laugh, spending time taking care of them, advising them and building them up when they were down. Faith was always a shoulder to cry on and that silent reassurance for them when nobody felt like talking.
Friday 13th February, is International Epilepsy Day. This is a day where people and organisations come together to mark International Epilepsy Day.
In 2023, International Epilepsy Day will focus on the stigma people living with epilepsy face around the world.
Epilepsy affects almost every aspect of the life of a person diagnosed with the disease. For many people living with Epilepsy, the stigma attached to the disease is more difficult to deal with than the disease itself.
At Ebbsfleet Academy, we are committed to supporting International Epilepsy Day in raising awareness of the disease, educating people about epilepsy and dispelling myths to reduce the stigma.
On Monday 6th February, we are inviting all of our students to take part in The 50 Million Steps for Epilepsy Campaign by completing a 5k colour run within an hour. This will give us all the chance as a family to come together to remember Faith.
We are asking for the support of our family, friends and wider community to help us fundraise for much needed resources for epilepsy patient groups and associations around the world.
Every little helps!
From all of us at Ebbsfleet Academy we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any contributions that you can give.
