In these times of uncertainty, Catholic Charities strives to be a beacon of light and provide a sense of comfort. We are here to offer support by providing direct services, education, and advocacy for needy Mississippians. Our team is here to serve others at all times and services are offered regardless of faith, race, or age and over 85% of the individuals we serve are of other faiths.
“When I was a stranger, you welcomed me.” - Matthew 23:35
So, what is the URM Program? Glad you asked……The Unaccompanied Refugee Minor Program serves some of the most vulnerable minors in the world — those who were fleeing persecution, violence, or abuse, and entered the United States without a parent or custodian. These minors are placed in the custody of the state. Catholic Charities, Inc. has guardianship and they can remain in the program until they reach the age of 21. These minors receive schooling, financial support, mental health services, case management, medical assistance, living skills, English language training, cultural activities and so much more. Pretty cool huh! Here is where we need your help. The Unaccompanied Refugee Minor Program is asking for a donation to help the minors that we serve as they continue to navigate through life’s challenges while seeking safety, security, and a better life in the United States. Your support is very much needed and appreciated.
Thanking you in advance!
