Story
It's been a privilege to see and be part of the AMAZING work that goes on at the hospice, both professionally and personally. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they will do everything in their power to ensure patients keep their dignity and ensure families have the space they need with their loved ones. The staff have such huge hearts and really care about every single patient and their families in such difficult times.
A couple of months ago whilst visiting the hospice, it just felt the right thing to do to get involved with raising funds for the hospice, so I wrote my name down to run the Leicester half marathon. It costs £500/d to care for an inpatient at LOROS. I want to support LOROS as much as I can, so I've set a huge target of £1000. It's a pinch of the £5million LOROS needs every year, but it will help.
This will be a big challenge- my knees are knackered from years of playing hockey (you can probably to hear the creaking!), so training will be noisy. Also, I have little idea on how to raise such a huge amount. Don't be surprised if you see awkward approaches and clumsy social media postings!
If you could find a few spare pounds to donate to this wonderful place, I would really appreciate it. Every penny can help them make a difference.
Thank you for your support and kindness,
Ebrahim
