Story
After delaying my place to run due to Covid, I'm pleased to say I am finally running the 2023 London Marathon!
I'm running and fundraising for the Stroke Association in memory of my Granny, Maureen Dennis. She lived a wonderful life and was such a great grandmother to all of us. Unfortunately she passed away in 2013 after a series of mini strokes followed by one large stroke which led to her final year being spent bed bound and with little quality of life.
Before this happened our family had very little understanding of what causes a stroke, the importance of early intervention and the overwhelming effect that such an event can have on loved ones. I have chosen to fundraise for The Stoke Association as they do so much important work to fund research, support families and anyone who has been touched by a stroke.
I am happy to be running the 2023 London Marathon for such a worthwhile charity which is so close to my heart and after such a long delay.
Every donation whatever the size will mean so much to me and help spur me on during those dark evening training runs or early mornings, but especially during those 26.2 miles around London!
The Stroke Association's specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, the Stroke Association can rebuild even more lives. You can read more about what this amazing charity does here- https://www.stroke.org.uk/
