Thanks to everyone who sponsored me to run 10KM to raise money for BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers)!
I wanted to run in the Telford 10KM road race on 20 December 2009, but it was cancelled by officials at 7:30am on race day! The course was covered in ice and far too dangerous to even walk to the course, let alone run on it.
Not to be held back by poor weather, I travelled back to London and ran 10KM on a treadmill in the gym, with a fierce fitness instructor Samuel Grove on hand - he took it upon himself to keep the pace of the treadmill at my absolute limit! It was harder than I expected to finish in under an hour, but Sam certainly helped and I finished in 59mins 02seconds.
I hope the substitute of the treadmill is ok for everyone who sponsored!
