Farleigh Hospice provides hospice care & support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses. With approximately 40% of our annual running costs funded by the local NHS, we rely on the goodwill of the local mid Essex community to contribute to the £21,271 it costs to provide our services each day.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 25th August 2013 we lost my wonderful brother in law Lee after a brave battle with Bowel Cancer at the age of only 35 years old leaving behind my sister Abbey and two awesome nephews, Zach and Seb.

If the kids weren't pulling their weight, Lee used to say to them that they were being lazy like Uncle Ed. I can't think of a more fitting tribute to him than to run the London Marathon to show how much he meant to me and my family.

I ran a half marathon in 2012 and at the end of that I swore never to run again. Well, here we are one year later and I am about to double that distance. 26 miles! That's just under a quarter of the length of the M25 folks!

The training has begun in earnest and I am realising again how hard this is going to be. With my little legs, it means that I have to double the number of strides that most other people will be running so in my head that means I'm actually running 52 miles...

Any extra support on the day will be very welcome.

I will be running for the Farleigh Hospice, a local Essex based charity, who provided much needed support to Lee during his illness and continuing support to Abbey now.

The hospice relies on donations to keep going so please donate as much as you can.
