I will be running in the 10 mile tough mudder run on the 4th of September for the meningitis research Trust. Meningitis can affect anybody but is particularly devastating for infants and the elderly. My daughter was admitted to hospital for 2 weeks at 8 days old with meningitis. As we were able to spot the signs early and get treatment fast she has made a full recovery, but many people are not so fortunate. Treatment options for meningitis are limited and running out due to the rise of antibiotic resistance so as much research as possible needs to be done to increase survivability for these awful infections.
