At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

After completing many hikes in the UK, I began hiking abroad back in 2017 when I hiked on the Great Wall of China. An absolutely fantastic experience which just left me wanting more and more. So in 2018, I hiked in the Alps, 3 Countries in 3 days, Italy, Switzerland and France before finishing 2018 with a trek in the Sahara Desert. My next hike overseas is this one in May 2019. Mount Toubkal is the highest mountain in North Africa standing at 4167m. It is quite simply a mammoth challenge for me. Do I believe that I can do it? Absolutely, why else would I put myself forward for it 😂 I fly to Marrakech on May 14th to take on this challenge and I am doing this for Alzheimer's Society. Having seen the effects Alzheimer's had on my late father I want to do all I can personally to help us to a world without dementia. It is a cruel cruel disease. Please help me. Each and every penny will make a difference to the lives of others.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
