Story
After the huge success of the re-ignited 2022 charity hike, a group of medical students from Manchester and Sheffield will again be aiming to take the long way to get into uni and walking from the Manchester medical school building to the Sheffiled medical school building. A journey of over 40miles! The aim will be to raise money for Edale Mountain Rescue by walking across the beautiful Peak District from outside the doors of the Stopford Building in Manchester to the Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield over two days. We’ve chosen to raise money for Edale MRT as, being wilderness medicine societies situated on the edges of the peak district, we spend a lot of time out in the country’s busiest national park and have a huge respect for the people who help us enjoy our time safely, knowing that if the worst were to happen there is always someone to call. Last year we raised £2,970 from individual donations (not including gift aid!!). We were absolutely blown away by this. Can we beat our record again this year...?
