We provide whole family care and support to those living with life-limiting illness

Story

Thank you so much for visiting my page. In November 2021, my Dad, Guy Carter was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, sadly passing away 6 weeks later in January 2022. In that time, the care he received from the Severn Hospice was simply outstanding. The support and expertise of staff at the Severn Hospice allowed him to spend his final days at home, surrounded by family.

Dad loved the mountains, so in April this year I'll be running the Highland Ultra, a 125km ultra marathon across the Knoydart peninsula in Scotland. I'm aiming to raise £500, that will go directly to supporting others facing similar challenges.

Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help.It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can't happen without you. For every £1 you donate, the hospice will spend 88p directly on care – and use the remaining 12p to make another £1. Last year, all those individual donations meant the hospice could be there when it mattered for 3,000 local families.

Severn Hospice provides specialist care and emotional support for families in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales living with an incurable illness. All our care is provided for free, but it is not without cost - we have to raise £2 for every £3 we spend. It's because you care that we can.
