In 2011 I grew a beard during December for Decembeard and Beating Bowel Cancer. Along with some friends we raised lots of money and as an added bonus I didn't have to shave for a whole month! It only started becoming a problem towards the end of the month when it started getting itchy.

So this year I thought I'd make it a bit harder on myself and grow a beard during both November and December - the itchyness should start around the beginning of December and spur me on to raise even more.

If you gave last year, thank you but the charity still needs help to stop people losing their life to the disease. 90% of bowel cancer cases can be treated successfully if caught in time. Unfortunately far too many aren't. I know this only too well after losing my own wife to the disease just two years after she was diagnosed.
