Story

The Edinaman Senior High School girls' team have once again beaten the odds to reach the national finals (last 8 - they came 3rd last year), which is on 13-15th June.

However, unlike the other teams, Edinaman don't have a proper hockey kit or shinpads - let alone gum shields or astro shoes - the keeper plays without proper padding.

As Isaac, their incredibly committed coach writes:

'Judging from the achievements chalked so far, we firmly believe that the provision of additional training equipments such as shoes and shin pads would improve our current performance. We therefore pleading with any able hands that can help to develop the club. As part of our activities, we would encourage more girls to join and give them the chance to develop an interest in playing hockey. This would go a long way to reduce destitution and teenage pregnancy in the district.'

£200 would kit out the entire team in proper hockey kit to fight for their dream, with more enabling this club to prosper in the long term, with numerous benefits for girls and boys in this community.

I'll keep you updated on their journey!

Yours in hockey,

Cat, Isaac, and the Edinaman hockey players
