Story
I'm taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival for Prostate Cancer UK. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK.
My Papa passed away in 2016 at 68 years old, I wish I could have been given more time with him. Though Papa was fighting with prostate cancer for a number of years he was always stoic and determined, he kept joking with all the grandchildren, making up pirate stories when we joined him on his daily walks or telling us Tinkerbell was watching from the garden shed, ready to report back to Santa on Christmas Eve. Sadly we lost my Papa too soon, but for other families the work Prostate Cancer UK does gives hope and help to Dads, Brothers, Sons and Friends across the country.
Prostate Cancer UK is leading the fight against prostate cancer. They fund groundbreaking research, drive improvements in treatment and fight injustice in care. I hope that by challenging myself with running the Edinburgh Marathon and raising funds in memory of my Papa I can help contribute to their cause.
