Story

🏃‍♀️ Running the Edinburgh Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK 💙

I never thought I’d say this — but I’m running a marathon! 😳😅🙈

At the start of January 2025, even running 26.2 miles across a month felt impossible. But I stuck with it and raised £1,095! Then in September, I took on the Great North Run, raising another £650.

So why stop there?

This time, I’ve signed up to take on the Edinburgh Marathon to raise even more money for Prostate Cancer UK — a cause that means so much to me.

As many of you know, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer a year ago. He’s been through radiotherapy and is still undergoing chemotherapy. Seeing him go through this has made me realise how important it is to raise awareness — not all cancers have symptoms, and it’s so important to get checked.

If you know me, you know I’m not a natural runner. Running that January marathon challenge in snow, ice, and while being ill for two weeks was tough. But now I’m pushing myself further — to run 26.2 miles in one go for Prostate Cancer UK.

This is a huge challenge for me, but every penny donated will give me the motivation to cross that finish line within 6 hours and 30 minutes 💪

When cancer affects one of your loved ones, it affects all of you.

Any support you can give would mean the world to me 💕

💙 Why it matters 💙

1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. That’s thousands of dads, partners, brothers, grandads, uncles, and friends.

Your donations help fund lifesaving research and support men and their families through diagnosis and treatment.

💙 How your money helps:

£100 can pay for 1,000 microscope slides for researchers studying the effects of new treatments.

£300 could fund a researcher for a day using cutting-edge laser technology to test how new treatments boost the immune system.

£500 could help over 1,000 men learn about the PSA blood test through the Understanding the PSA Test booklet — helping them make informed decisions.

Thank you so much for your support — together, we can make a difference 💙
