St Cuthbert’s Hospice provides specialist care to people with life-limiting illnesses, people approaching the end of life and the bereaved. We make no charge for our services, ensuring Hospice care is available to everyone. It costs over £2 million each year to keep St Cuthbert's Hospice running.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are a group of hugely unfit, slightly alcoholic friends who regularly congregate in the Lambton Arms, Sherburn Village for the odd pint. Last year we were coerced into completing the 145 mile Coast to Coast cycle ride from Whitehaven to Tynemouth. Low and behold we had a great time and raised over £3,000 in the process for St Cuthberts Hospice.

So this year we thought we should try cycling a little bit further. Almost an extra hundred miles further from Edinburgh to Sherburn Village in Durham. The 230 miles will be completed over three days starting on Saturday the 24th of May and running through to Monday the 26th of May.

Sadly since completing our ride last May we have lost one of our friends. So this year in addition to raising money for St Cuthberts we are also cycling in memory of Phil Hanns. Phil was a genuinely great bloke who has been taken too early and will be sadly missed.
