I've signed up to run a Marathon which is something I've always wanted to tick off the bucket list! At the minute, the furthest I've ran is 13 miles so I've no doubt it's going to be tough. What spurred me on to finally sign up  was the idea of raising money for a charity close to me...

Family and close friends will know that my Granny has had vascular dementia for well over 15 years now. It's been tough watching the Granny we knew growing up slowly disappear in front of us. You go through different stages and notice the changes and behaviours that come with this awful illness… it can be challenging and if you didn't laugh, you'd cry.

I'm not only running 26 miles for my warrior Granny, I'm also doing it for my dear Gramps. I have had the privilege to witness first hand the purest unconditional love out there. You are Granny’s rock and your four grandchildren are extremely proud to call you our Grandpa. If you two can get through this and still keep smiling, then I can surely run 42k!! 

SO... I want to raise as much money for a charity that has helped my family through this, particularly in the early stages of Alzheimer's. I will be fundraising at the Easter Pub Quiz held at the White Lion, Great Longstone on the 29th March - of course, everyone is invited!

I have also managed to persuade a work colleague, John, in the barmy challenge who will be running it with me. Apologies to anyone in the office who has had to listen to us ramble on about running, it will soon be over I promise!
